Who am I?

Hi everyone! Welcome to my family's web site. Myself, my wife Heather, and our sons Rhys and Eric, all live here in Calgary, Canada.

I've been a professional software developer for over 15 years. Over my career, I have worked in Oil Refineries all over the world in places like Germany, Italy, France, South Korea, Mexico, with extended assignments in Texas, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the Netherlands (all BC - 'before children').

Since 1995, however, we've settled back in Calgary (our home town), with commuting to Houston, Texas on a regular basis. Since 2000 I have been working in a home office, and enjoying bringing up our sons.

For the past couple of years, I've been bitten hard by the General Aviation Bug. I started my Private Pilot Training last year and I've been making regular trips down to the USA for aerobatics flights. I'm also one of the organizers (webmaster) of the Northwest International Biplane Fly-in group. And I'm the current president and webmaster of the Okotoks Flying Club.

For those of you who know me, know that I've been a big user of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Being a software developer as well, I've been creating a utility to support the virtual air-traffic control organization VATSIM. Gndmaker is a utility I've been working on for 5 years which is in wide use around the world. Try Googling 'Gndmaker' to see how much it's in use.
